Bradford, Huckabey Spark Fifth-Inning Rally in 6–3 Win

March 21, 2026 - Park Hill handled Blue Valley North 6–3 on Saturday in a game that was competitive early before a decisive fifth inning created separation.

Park Hill opened the scoring in the first inning when Nick Huckabey drove in a run on a groundout. Blue Valley North answered in the bottom half, taking advantage of an error to tie the game at 1–1.

In the second, Owen Gutierrez put Park Hill back in front with an RBI single to make it 2–1. Blue Valley North responded again in the third, tying the game at 2–2 on a passed ball.

The Mustangs took their only lead of the game in the fourth inning. Elian Nunez delivered a sacrifice fly to give Blue Valley North a 3–2 advantage.

Park Hill broke the game open in the fifth. Caelin Bradford tripled and drove in two runs to reclaim the lead. Huckabey followed with an RBI single, and Ian Springer added another run with a double, pushing the lead to 6–3.

From there, Park Hill’s pitching took control. Hayes Pratt earned the win with 3⅓ innings of relief, allowing no hits or runs while striking out seven and walking none. Bradford started and worked one inning, allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Spencer Beltram also appeared in relief.

For Blue Valley North, Calem Yount started and went four innings, allowing four hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out seven and walking one. Will McQueary took the loss, giving up four runs on three hits over two innings, with two strikeouts and one walk.

Offensively, Bradford led Park Hill with two RBIs. Gutierrez, Springer, and Huckabey each had two hits. Gutierrez also stole three bases as Park Hill totaled seven steals in the game.

Blue Valley North was led by Joe Chaffin, who had two hits. Ty Wintory and Nunez each drove in a run, and Gavin Dilley added two stolen bases.

Park Hill’s five-run swing across the middle innings and shutdown relief from Pratt proved to be the difference.
